This international fashion house in Amsterdam is seeking a skilled Technical Apparel Developer to join their team dedicated to creating innovative, sustainable apparel. In this role, the Technical Developer will manage block libraries, lead seasonal silhouette development, and collaborate with design and product teams to bring the brand’s vision to life. With 2-4 years of experience in technical development, expertise in pattern cutting, and proficiency in tools like PLM and Adobe Suite, the candidate will oversee the entire process from concept through production.

The Department & Team 

The Technical Development team is dedicated to creating and launching products that are both innovative and sustainable. This team oversees the entire technical development process—from initial concept to final garment production—while upholding high standards for quality and product excellence and meeting company and divisional KPIs.

Working closely with stakeholders across Product Development, Design, Merchandising, and global teams, this role is essential to bringing the brand’s vision to life.

The Position 

Experienced and highly knowledgeable in apparel technical development, with a focus on managing and maintaining our block libraries and leading the development of new seasonal silhouettes across the global supply chain.

Work in close collaboration with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to interpret sketches, develop collections, align with market needs, and meet shared deadlines.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct research and development to support product innovation.
• Attend fit meetings, documenting feedback and changes, and ensure clear communication both internally and with external partners.
• Maintain data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Follow the critical path internally and externally to ensure timely development and production, supporting on-time delivery at each stage.
• Coordinate with overseas offices, sourcing teams, and Central Quality Assurance to address any quality concerns.
• Perform additional tasks as needed, such as organizing samples, preparing for meetings, conducting analyses, and generating reports.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 2–4 years of experience in technical development, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in fashion, garment technology, pattern cutting, or equivalent experience in the fashion, clothing, or textiles industry.
• Strong product knowledge in apparel, especially within the relevant category, with expertise in pattern cutting and technical construction.
• Proficiency with software such as PLM, Gerber (or equivalent), 3D tools like Browzwear or Gerber 3D, and Adobe Suite is a plus.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player, able to work across departments to achieve shared goals.
• Skilled at solving straightforward problems by following established procedures; highly productive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with strong data integrity.
• Self-motivated, pragmatic, and business-oriented, embodying values of individuality, passion, accountability, partnership, and integrity, with a strong command of both written and spoken English.
