Maintenance Technician in IJmuiden

In the position of Maintenance Technician / Breakdown Engineer, you will be directly employed by the client and responsible for ensuring optimal operation of the production and packaging lines. Your workday starts between 06:00 and 08:00 with inspections of the machinery and carrying out planned preventive maintenance. When a technical malfunction occurs during the day, you read out machines and PLCs to quickly diagnose issues in electrical engineering, mechanics, control systems, or automation and resolve them expertly. Between 15:00 and 17:00, you wrap up your day, leaving the equipment ready for safe, clean, and fault-free production.

Responsibilities

• Reading out machines and PLCs to analyze and resolve technical issues
• Locating, analyzing, and resolving technical malfunctions in machinery and installations
• Performing planned and preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
• Managing, maintaining, and inspecting building-related installations
• Proposing improvements to reduce technical downtime and equipment failure
• Guiding and supervising external technical contractors and specialists on site
• Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene guidelines in the workplace
• Advising production personnel on the correct and safe operation of machinery

We are looking for:

• Technical background with knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanics, control systems, or automation
• Experience with reading out PLC systems and industrial machinery
• Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance in a production or packaging environment
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical breakdowns
• Precise working method with focus on quality, safety, and hygiene
• Good command of either the English or Dutch language
• Clear and effective communication skills

• Monthly salary between €3,000 and €4,200 based on experience
