## About the roleAs a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to stable, scalable software that directly supports the quality and continuity of digital services. You will work on complex backend solutions, help shape technical decisions, and support the team in delivering resilient systems.
This role combines hands-on development with senior input on collaboration, quality, and technical direction. In this part-time position, you will make an impact on architecture, performance, and maintainability, while also helping other developers develop their skills.

## Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend functionality in Java, with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions while safeguarding technical quality
- Improve the performance, security, and maintainability of existing applications
- Collaborate with product, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and with care
- Review colleagues’ code and coach team members on best practices
- Identify technical risks and actively contribute to architectural decisions
## Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role
- Strong knowledge of Java and common backend principles
- Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases
- Familiar with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
- Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
- HBO- or WO-level thinking and working ability, preferably in computer science or a related field
## Nice to have
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with microservices architectures
- Knowledge of containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
